The Holidays and Your Business

So it's that time of the year where PC meets not-so-PC and everyone is stressed.  This time is otherwise know as the holidays. Winter Solstice, Hanukkah,Christmas, Kwanzaa, Festivus...whichever is your pleasure, now is the time.  The time, for parties, gifts, obligations, lack of sleep, and ....

Well, you name it.  Companies walk a fine line wanting to show appreciation of the staff but also wanting to maintain political correctness.  For me, I prefer not to wait until November/December to show appreciation nor do I need such a grand reason to celebrate.  Never-the-less, I join the crowds to buy gifts, cards and more.

I say if you are going to have decorations and celebrations why pick only one?  Why not celebrate them all?  Better yet, why not create a new one?

I think I will start Danico-win-sol-kkah-mas-zaa-vus, which will be the second Friday of December where we have food, music and fun. Maybe a white elephant gift exchange, snowflake race or other games.

I may even do some baking.  Shhh!!  Don't tell the staff, I haven't gotten all the kinks worked out yet.
