Ready for some shopping? You can't escape all of the Black Friday promotions but before you map out your strategy for shopping madness, take a moment to think about the shop around the corner, the local business. On Saturday, November 30th is Small Business Saturday.
What is Small Business Saturday?
"Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country. Founded by American Express in 2010, this day is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. "
It is a great opportunity to let those businesses know you appreciate them. The Small Business Saturday website includes an easy-to-use map to find businesses in your area that are participating. In my area alone there are over 100 shops participating from florists, hardware stores, jewelers, wine shops, and more. Take a look and map out a plan that includes the shop around the corner for your holiday and gift needs.
Participants are not limited to retail shops, restaurants, services, entertainment, and travel services are also available. Take a look and include your favorite local shop in your plans Saturday, November 30th and help celebrate Small Business Saturday.
