Happy 13th Birthday to Joomla!

Today marks the 13th birthday of Joomla!  I personally have been using it for 10 years.  Wow!  Just saying that (or writing it) just seems unreal, like I just started yesterday.  I found Joomla on accident looking for a simple to use, but flexible, system for a non-profit that I was donating my time to.  They want to create a stronger web presence than the splash page they'd been using. I started using Joomla and have never looked back.  Today, I develop in many languages, CMS platforms and such, but dare say that I've used Joomla 90% of the time. The percentage would be higher if it were not for the SharePoint (yes it's a CMS) work I do.

In the past 5 years, I've become more actively involved in the Joomla Community and have not regretted a single moment.  The people I've met and had the privilege of learning from have been amazing.  It's great to be around people with a passion for what they do and in this case use.

On this, Joomla's 13th Birthday, I encourage you to take a look at Joomla's features, engage in it's community and share in the Joomla love.
