Celebrating Memorial Day

This Memorial Day is different than what we're used to but no less important.  Memorial Day became an official holiday in 1968 and was once known as Decoration Day. It is a day to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. Military.

While we may be social distancing, here are a few at-home ways to honor the military:

• Patriotic Chalk art 
• Fly a Flag outside your home
• Wear your pride by dressing in red, white, and blue
• Have a patriotic sing-along
• Tune in to the National Memorial Day Concert on PBS at 8 pm EST
• Participate in a patriotic scene contest for a drive-by parade
• Participate in virtual 1 mile, 5k, and 10k run and walk with National Veterans and Memorial
• Participate in Wear Blue: Run to Remember to honor those who lost their lives during 9/11
• Create a video message or take a virtual tour on Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund

There are many ways to pay tribute, even from home. For those who have lost their lives to keep my family and me safe... THANK YOU
